About

I'm a Computer Science student at Kent State University (Data Engineering concentration, minor in Russian), graduating in December 2026. The work I enjoy most sits where code meets physical equipment: getting readings off a device, moving them reliably into a database, and proving they're correct before anyone builds a report on top of them.

As team lead for a sensor network deployed with Kent State's Department of Agriculture, I designed the pipeline from Raspberry Pi Pico nodes to a Linux collection server and ran the team on sprints with code review and CI. On my own time I'm building CarPi, a Raspberry Pi that logs engine data from my car's CAN bus.

I also know operations first-hand: four years at a warehouse that tracks roughly 150,000 boxes, and a summer deploying IT infrastructure across Cleveland's public schools. I'm looking for an entry-level software engineering, test automation, or data role in Northeast Ohio. I'm fluent in English and Russian.

Projects

  • Horticultural Environmental Monitoring System

Team lead · Kent State Department of Agriculture

A distributed temperature and humidity sensor network for horticultural research. I led the student team and designed the data path: Raspberry Pi Pico nodes report to a Linux collection server that stores and aggregates readings in a relational database. We shipped on schedule using sprints, GitHub code review, and CI on every pull request. I'm staying on as stakeholder for the year-two rewrite.

  • CarPi: CAN Bus Telemetry

    Personal project · In progress

A headless Raspberry Pi on my car's OBD-II port that requests live engine data from the ECU over CAN (MCP2515 + Linux SocketCAN) about 8 times a second and logs one CSV per drive. Every decoded signal is checked against a physical reference before a run is trusted, and a pandas pipeline, tested and deployed by GitHub Actions, turns the logs into before/after comparisons for an engine repair.

  • QueryShield: Data Privacy Framework

    Big Data Analytics course

A privacy layer for analytical queries. Differential-privacy style noise and filtering limit how much sensitive data reaches query results, and access-control rules are enforced on the output. The filtering logic is covered by pytest suites that run in GitHub Actions on every push.
